Featuring the US State Department, George Washington University, and of course, the University Hospital, the neighborhood is never short of students, congress members, or State Department employees.
  • Penn Quarter – Penn Quarter is an interesting neighborhood because it’s so diverse and so active all at the same time. Of course, it houses DC’s Chinatown, but it’s also home to the Washington Capitals of the NHL and the Washington Wizards of the NBA. In addition, the National Portrait Gallery also calls this neighborhood home, which means that there’s no shortage of food, cuisine, art, and sports all in one! 
  • Shaw – When you’re looking for a trendy Washington DC neighborhood, Shaw is always at the top of the list. Featuring beautiful historic Federal houses, Victorian rowhouses, and a new development of modern, renovated industrial buildings that feature minimalist loft apartments, Shaw offers DC living in style. 
  • Southwest Waterfront – Known for waterfront living, Southwest Waterfront is dwarfed in size by some of DC’s other neighborhoods, but that doesn’t value it any lower! In fact, Southwest Waterfront is a quaint little neighborhood that has everything a resident could ever ask for. You’re close to museums, to downtown DC, and of course, to the water.

Transportation

There are dozens of ways you can get around the city and see the sights. These include:

  • Ride the D.C. Metro and quickly get to anywhere you need to go in the city.
  • Take the D.C. bus to reach areas where the Metro doesn’t take you – like Georgetown.
  • Hail a cab or take Ride Share.
