About New Orleans

New Orleans – also known as the “Big Easy,” is one of the most exciting cities not just in the state of Louisiana, and not only in the southern United States – but in the entire country. Known for its robust and dynamic community, its diverse heritage, its exciting music scene, and of course, it’s virtually endless nightlife, New Orleans is one of the most exciting places to live for a young professional. However, it’s also become quite the spot for families as well! With such a dynamic atmosphere, a rich economy built on nightlife, entertainment, and tourism, there is much to be loved about this coastal city – and for those very reasons, people from all walks of life are flocking to the city to call it their new home.

Business in the area

chevron-down
New Orleans is a robust and bustling city, and although it’s certainly known for its booming nightlife, entertainment, and tourism industries, the fact of the matter is that the city boasts a strong and diverse economy that encompasses all of the above, plus a number of other industries. Some of the largest employers in the city include Fairmont Hotel & Resorts, Entergy, Louisiana Children’s Medical Center, Tulane University, Tidewater, and Stewart Enterprises, among others. From there, Weiser Security Services, the New Orleans Police Department Employees Credit Union, and Tulane Medical Center are another source of employment for many of the city’s residents. No matter what your professional experience might be, there’s something for everyone in New Orleans.

Neighborhoods in New Orleans

chevron-down
French Quarter – Arguably one of the most well-known neighborhoods in the entire United States, the French Quarter of New Orleans is a dynamic, robust, and beautifully historic cultural hub located right in the heart of the city along the water. Known for its colorful architecture, it’s exciting nightlife, and of course, delicious Cajun restaurants, bars, and the famous French Market, living near or inside of the French Quarter is a dream come true.

Warehouse District – The Warehouse district is an up and coming neighborhood located just next to the French Quarter. Filled with trendy converted warehouses, you can find exciting restaurants, trendy shops and boutiques, coffee shops and cafes, and some of the best BBQ you can find in the city.

River Ridge – The neighborhood of River Ridge is located just outside of the city and is considered one of the more popular suburbs of New Orleans. River Ridge is a quiet community that gives you the space you need from the big city. Perfect for families and young professionals who work in the city but choose to live outside of it.

Metairie – The neighborhood of Metairie is located outside of the city, but within the metro area. As the largest community in Jefferson Parish, Metairie is a mini city all on its own with a population of nearly 150,000 residents. Metairie is a nice place to live if you want the urban vibe without the New Orleans raucous.

Mandeville – Mandeville, Louisiana is a quiet, low populated town located right on the North Short of Lake Pontchartrain, just across the lake from New Orleans. A perfect place to raise a family and settle down, Mandeville offers beautiful views and a wonderful neighborhood.

Slidell – Located on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Slidell is a mid-sized town that offers quiet, scenic living along the lake and the nearby Pearl River Wildlife Management Area. If you’re looking for a nice place to live outside of New Orleans that isn’t too far away, you can experience a different side of Louisiana living.

In addition to these wonderful areas, there are a few more neighborhoods that certainly deserve a shout out. Be sure to take a look at short term leases that we have available for rent in the following neighborhoods:

  • Covington
  • River Ridge
  • Elmwood
  • Kenner
  • Garden District
