One of the best parts about living in Denver, Colorado, is the fact that you are often within walking distance of everything that you could ever ask for in a neighborhood or city. If you’re in the city center, you have easy access to downtown Denver and Union Station. Plus, the Denver Metro area offers a wide variety of public transportation options to help you get around the city quickly and affordably.

If you’re a more active individual who would rather skip the light rail to get around the Denver Metro area, you can use one of the many available bike-share options. It’s great if you live in a Denver apartment or if you’ve just moved into a new home in one of the Mile High City’s bustling neighborhoods. Here’s what you should know about bike shares in Denver:

Rocky Mountain Biking

This bicycle rental service is in a convenient location in Lakewood. While you’re taking a leisurely ride, you can scope out mountain views, see the local golf courses and pools, and admire the street art throughout the city.

This is a great option if you want to get out on the trails. Though there aren’t in-person tours or virtual tours of their facilities, Rocky Mountain Biking can set up guided bike tours for you to enjoy. They’ll even meet you at the trails with a bike and the necessary gear for your ride. It’s essentially the gold rush of adventure biking services. So, while you won’t be biking around DTC, you will be able to get some stunning views and breathtaking scenery.

Golden Bike Library

You’ve certainly heard of a book library, but have you heard of a bike library? That’s right! The Golden Bike Library lets you “check out” a bike during the organization’s hours of service. The first two hours are free, but the fees afterward aren’t too pricey, either. Since Golden is removed from the city center, it’s a great way to explore a new neighborhood and scope out some sights. Though there’s no FAQ on the website, the bike rental page is thorough and it even provides a brewery tour list.

Cycleton

Cycleton handles both sales and rentals, so it’s the perfect place to try before you buy. Though it’s less like a traditional bike-share or rental service, the staff is knowledgeable and can help you find the perfect ride. It’s situated in a cozy neighborhood and is an excellent stop if you’re looking to talk to someone who offers a lot of insight into different bikes and their uses.

If you’re tired of wandering around your kitchen and you’ve paced every inch of your space, maybe it’s time to go for a ride. While Denver apartments can be incredibly cozy, the surrounding nature and views are well worth the price of admission—and now, with all of your bike-share information brought to one place, you can see everything that this beautiful city has to offer.
