Margaret Littman tells the stories of the people and the places of the South. From her home on the Cumberland River in Nashville, she researches restaurants, honky-tonks, paddling destinations, and bootmakers in the region. Her work has appeared in Preservation, Condé
Nast Traveler, Real Simple, PUNCH, and many other publications. She writes guidebooks to the southeast under the Moon imprint. Life in Nashville has allowed her to acquire a boot collection but not the ability to carry a tune. She recently finished paddleboarding in all 50 states.
My Favorite Things to Do in Nashville
Taking a Fisk University campus tour, including the Aaron Douglas murals and the Carl Van Vechten Gallery.
Visiting the Parthenon at dusk as the exterior lights come on.
Waking over the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge at night, looking at the neon lights of Broadway.
Putting away your phones and spending a magical night at House of Cards.
Taking a backstage tour of the Ryman Auditorium and then catching a show on the hollowed stage.
"People move to Nashville to make their dreams come true, and that optimism fuels everything in the city. From the music to the fashion to the art to the food, Nashville is creative and unexpected."
