5 Tips for a (Mostly) Stress-Free Move
Declutter. One of the worst things you can do when moving is to pack things you’re only going to get rid of when you get to the new place. Bonus: It’s less for you to pack later!
Label your moving boxes. You’re likely not going to unpack every box the first day you move in. Labels will tell you which boxes should be opened first and which can stay packed for a bit.
Time deliveries and forward your mail. Halt any online orders to be sent to your soon-to-be current home. You will avoid missing any packages if there are shipping delays, plus you don’t more things to pack! Be sure to also let the post office know your new address and when you’re ready to start receiving mail there.
Don't pack food. Time your food shopping and meal planning accordingly so that you have cleaned out your refrigerator and kitchen cabinets by the time you move.
Use a wardrobe box to pack clothing. It’s a game-changer. Pack up an entire closet in under 10 minutes? Yes, please!
