How does Landing work?

Pick an apartment - Find a home you're interested in from our network of apartments and choose a furnished or unfurnished home.

Apply - We'll run a background and credit check.

Pack up the necessities - Personal effects, special toiletries (we have the basics- shampoo, soap, etc.), and that picture of grandma.

Show up at your new home and start living!

Do I have to pay a security deposit?

No, part of being a Landing member means never putting down a security deposit for a home.

Can I go from one Landing home to the next?

Once you've joined Landing you can easily move between our homes - no additional applications necessary! Reach out at [email protected] if you're looking to switch homes.
  • Furnished Landings - freedom to transfer within the Landing network with 30 days notice, no fees apply.
  • Unfurnished Landings - we offer the same freedom here as with our furnished homes. If you want to pick up and move to another unfurnished Landing apartment all you need to do is give a 30 day notice.

How short or long can I stay?

As long as you like! Rates vary by the duration of your stay.

Are there any other fees apart from what I see on the website?

  • Furnished - no, what you see is what you get! All variable monthly fees (utilities etc) are paid by Landing.
  • Unfurnished - nope! Our site lists all fees or charges related to your reservation.
Both furnished & unfurnished members may be required to pay any pet, parking or other amenity fees charged by the building (these will be assessed & communicated before lease signature).

Can I book any property I see as furnished or unfurnished?

Yes! If you aren’t seeing your desired building or floor plan please reach out to us at [email protected] and our team will do our best to match your needs.

Why am I being asked to sign a 12 month lease?

Landing members sign a direct lease with the property, in addition to a Landing membership agreement. But don’t worry, the Landing transfer & cancellation policy still applies to all homes.

Can I tour a home before booking it?

Does Landing own its apartments?

Rather than build new units or buildings, Landing partners with local property developers and managers in each market to secure existing apartments and transform them into Landings.

Do you run a background and credit check?

Will I be charged immediately?

At checkout you will be charged your Landing membership fee along with the prorated rent for your Landing home. In the event that you do not complete and pass Landing's verification process, all fees will be refunded within 14 days.

Do I need to set up utilities?

Furnished landings are set up with internet and utilities prior to your move in. Unfurnished landings do not come set up with utilities and internet, however we are happy to recommend our favorite providers in the area! No utilities are charged for unfurnished reservations

What if I need to change my dates or cancel my reservation?

If it's less than 24 hours since you've made the reservation then no problem! Just reach out to us and we'll be happy to help and issue a full refund. Unfortunately, after 24 hours from the reservation, you will have to pay a cancellation fee equal to the Monthly Occupancy Fee payable for thirty days, but we can still help you get your reservation cancelled. Why am I seeing lodging taxes?

Some cities charge a lodging tax depending on the length of your stay.

How do I check in and check out of my home?

  • Furnished - A Landing host will meet you on your move-in date to show you your new home, the amenities of your building and assist you with getting on the wifi. We'll also send an email with any information you might need to park, access the building, etc. On your way out, you just leave any fobs, etc. on the kitchen counter.
  • Unfurnished - You will receive an email directly from the property with the check-in procedure prior to your arrival.

How many people can live with me?

Our policy is up to two people per bedroom, however each city has different laws.

Can I request extra beds?

Landing does not allow additional beds to be moved into your home.

Can I bring my own furniture?

  • Furnished - We strive to have everything you'd need to live fully. We ask that you don't bring in any large furniture pieces to your home.
  • Unfurnished - yes please do!

What's the cleaning policy?

When we set up your home we'll ask you for a cleaning frequency and set it up for you. And if you need additional, one-off cleanings you can set those up as well by contacting us at [email protected]

Cleaning Protocols

Our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our community.
  • Landing Hosts are required to wear a mask as they clean.
  • Hosts complete a 64-point checklist during a turnover clean.
  • All surfaces are disinfected at the start and end of each cleaning, with emphasis on high-touch areas (door handles, light switches, etc.).
  • We hold weekly info sessions for Hosts to cover updates and best practices (e.g. cleaning vs. disinfecting).

What building amenities are included?

The amenities available vary by building, but we include access to all amenities in the rent, so you're free to use whatever the building provides!

What's your pet policy?

We welcome dogs and cats as long as the property you're staying at does too! Reach out to us and we'll share the pet information for your next home! Get in touch

Is parking included?

It varies by the building, but we don't include paid parking spaces in your rent since not everyone needs them.

Smoke-free huh?

Yes! The majority of our complexes are entirely smoke-free as well.

Can I rent my home out on Airbnb?

No, our properties can't be rented out by members.

How does Landing travel work?

Landing members are eligible for stay in a vacant furnished Landing for 7 night per active year of membership. The minimum length of stay is 2 nights, please contact [email protected] for additional details & availability.

Why doesn’t my furnished apartment have full window covering?

Almost all of our property partners offer full window coverings (i.e. blinds, curtains), but a select few have limitations - it’s possible the window has a unique shape or is difficult to cover due to its size.
If the rare situation does arise where window coverings aren’t available, Landing will work with you and the property to try to come up with a solution.
