As a designated port city located right on the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile has and always will be a mariner’s city. In fact, much of its history is built around the port, with a number of museums that dedicated to the city’s nautical past. From the USS Alabama anchored in Battleship Memorial Park to the Mobile Carnival Museum that preserves the city’s beautiful Mardi Gras traditions, there’s always a place to see some history in Mobile. In addition to that, the city is very much an art-centric city, with plenty of beautiful sights to be seen.
