Tales of a Digital Nomad: Why Denver Was the Perfect City to Spend the Summer

As someone who loves the outdoors, I couldn’t wait to make the move to beautiful Denver, Colorado! Denver has always been on my bucket list of places to live because of its endless recreational opportunities and its close proximity to the spectacular Rocky Mountains.

When my time living in Scottsdale, Arizona, came to an end this past spring, I packed up my car and headed north in search of my next adventure. Here are some of the best things I did during my summer in Denver and why I think it’s such a great spot this time of year!

Arriving in Denver: My first impressions

When I arrived at my Landing in Denver, I was overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude that I would be able to call this place home for the next few months. The apartment’s layout was better than I could have imagined, and the view of the mountains was simply breathtaking. I immediately felt at peace in my new home and couldn’t wait to explore the surrounding area.

The main reason I chose my apartment was because it was located conveniently near multiple filming locations for my new YouTube channel, MIXM Sports. Within a few miles from my home, I had everything I needed to film new sports content, including soccer fields, basketball courts, public golf courses, and baseball diamonds. Denver’s population is known for being very active, and for someone who relies on public access to parks and sports complexes for work, I really couldn’t have picked a better place to live. 

In order to make sure that I can perform to the best of my abilities while filming, it’s essential that I take care of my body. One of my favorite things about living with Landing is that I never need to worry about finding a new gym when I travel to new cities. The convenience of having top-notch workout facilities onsite means I never have to miss a workout or recovery session. In addition to the wonderful gym, I often spent time enjoying the other amenities in my apartment building, including the pool, business room, and free cold brew on tap in the lobby. 

Enjoying the best attractions in Denver

My new apartment was just a short distance away from some of Denver’s most iconic districts and attractions. When I wasn’t busy filming, I had countless options for dining and entertainment. Some of my favorite places that I visited while living in Denver were the Denver Zoo, the Meow Wolf art exhibit, and the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. 

Whenever I wanted to go out with friends, we would venture to some of the livelier areas of Denver, including the RiNo district, Cherry Creek, LoHi, and LoDo. 

Exploring the Colorado wilderness and mountains

While I certainly appreciated having access to a thriving nightlife scene, my absolute favorite thing about living in Denver was how easy it was to get to the mountains! Although Denver is one of the more temperate-friendly summer climates you can find, it can definitely get hot from time to time (just like anywhere else these days).

Whenever temperatures would rise, I would head to higher elevation in search of cooler temperatures and exploration. Being able to escape the city for a day and experience unbelievable nature is something you don’t find in most places. Within a half-hour to an hour drive, I had access to some of the most spectacular hiking, biking, fishing, and camping opportunities in the entire country. 

Spending the summer in Denver: Final takeaways

Living in Denver during the summer months was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience. Over the course of the past few months, I was able to explore Colorado’s beautiful Front Range, spend quality time with friends and family, get into the best shape of my life, and launch my passion project, MIXM Sports.
